Confident teen girl looking toward her future
Success without self

Success without self always comes at a cost.

A teen can earn the grades, make the team, take the leadership role, get into the school, or achieve the goal—and still be ruled by pressure, approval, perfectionism, and fear of getting it wrong.

That is success without self: achieving on the outside while losing trust in yourself on the inside. It may look impressive, but it will never feel powerful.

Your child does not need to lower their goals. They need the inner foundation to pursue them without losing who they are.

Why this work matters

High-performers train the mental skills behind the performance.

Athletes train the mental side of their sport. Leaders learn to make decisions under pressure. Great performers learn to manage their attention, recover from setbacks, communicate clearly, and stay committed when things become difficult.

Those are not personality traits. They are learnable skills—and they shape far more than a grade, a game, a role, or a résumé.

Does this sound like your child?

They may already be bright, talented, driven, or successful.

You can also see the habits, mindsets, or emotional patterns that are limiting how far they go — or could limit them as life asks more of them.

  • They overthink, second-guess themselves, or put so much pressure on themselves that they become overwhelmed, shut down, or avoid taking action.
  • They are trying to please others or afraid of getting it wrong, so they procrastinate, play small, or hesitate.
  • They excel and are navigating a demanding schedule but struggle with consistency, organization, follow-through, distractions, or planning ahead.
  • They are capable yet need a stronger system for managing their emotions, time, choices, and attention.
  • They struggle to communicate what they need, set boundaries, navigate friendships, or use their voice with confidence.
  • You want them to become more independent, self-aware, and confident before the next level demands it of them.
  • Coaching does not lower the bar for your teen. It helps them become the person who can meet it.
The House of RISE pillars

Success with self is built from the inside out.

Private coaching is personalized to your teen and organized around five essential areas of growth. Together, we R.I.S.E. and strengthen emotional regulation, resilience, self-confidence, and identity—giving them the mental edge to handle pressure, make stronger choices, and rise to the next level with clarity.

01

KNOW YOURSELF

Identify values, strengths, patterns, triggers, and the version of themselves they want to become.

02

MASTER YOURSELF

Build emotional regulation, routines, discipline, and the capacity to respond with intention under pressure.

03

TRUST YOURSELF

Create confidence through evidence, action, decision-making, and keeping promises to themselves.

04

EXPRESS YOURSELF

Communicate clearly, set boundaries, navigate relationships, and use their voice with confidence.

05

LIVE YOUR PURPOSE

Connect goals, choices, and daily habits to direction, meaning, and the life they want to lead.

The outcome

The goal is self-leadership, not dependence.

Over time, your teen begins to recognize their own patterns, make better decisions, recover more quickly, and trust themselves to handle what is in front of them. These are the skills that allow them to live powerfully in school, relationships, work, and adulthood.

What that looks like

Real-life application

We apply this work to goals and direction, habits and routines, focus and time management, confidence under pressure, communication, boundaries, friendship choices, and following through on commitments.

What families experience

Real growth. Stronger teens. More confident families.

Parents come to The House of RISE looking for meaningful change—not another temporary fix. Here is what families have shared about their experience working with Dr. Carla.

Dr. Carla met with my son at a time when he wasn’t sure about his next steps. She helped shift his perspective, and he has made great progress. He is now learning in the morning, attending college, working two jobs, and beginning to find his footing in life. Sometimes, as moms, we’re just too close to the situation. Dr. Carla helped me get through to my son in a way I couldn’t on my own.
A.A. — Parent
Dr. Carla’s warmth, empathy, and understanding really stood out. She has been incredibly patient and reassuring with both my teenager and me. The way she listens and guides without judgment has already made a meaningful difference. It truly feels like a positive shift for us, and we feel more at ease knowing we have her support.
Aarti Nigam — Parent
Dr. Carla connected with my son right away. You can tell she has a special skill set by listening to how she speaks their language. This is the kind of support that can only help, and I’m looking forward to all the progress that is to come.
Chante Bierman — Parent

“She has made a complete transformation. I’m so proud of her.”

What parents ask

Questions Parents Often Ask

Yes. Many teens who look successful on the outside are carrying pressure, self-doubt, perfectionism, or uncertainty on the inside. Coaching develops the internal skills that help them sustain success—and enjoy it—across every part of life.
Coaching is future-focused and skill-based. We work on mindset, emotional regulation, confidence, habits, communication, direction, and accountability. Coaching can complement therapy, but it is not a replacement for clinical mental-health care or tutoring.
That can be a workable starting point. They do not have to arrive fully convinced; they do need to be willing to show up, be honest, and give the process a real chance. On the Parent Strategy Call, we can talk through how to introduce coaching in a way that respects your teen and helps them understand what is in it for them.
Yes. Coaching can work alongside the support already in place. We focus on the everyday application: how your teen follows through, manages pressure, communicates, makes decisions, and takes ownership between the other supports they receive.
Coaching is personalized around the outcomes that matter most for your teen. We use frameworks, tools, and action steps to work on what is happening in real life, whether that is pressure, routines, communication, confidence, focus, relationships, or follow-through.
We create clear action steps, reinforce progress between sessions, and address what gets in the way. The goal is not for your teen to depend on someone else to manage them. It is to help them build the structure, consistency, and ownership to follow through for themselves.
You receive progress updates, summaries, and practical guidance so you understand the work and know how to support it at home. We balance this with the honest coaching space your teen needs.
Busy schedules are often exactly why this work matters. Coaching is virtual, consistent, and focused on helping your teen use their time and energy more intentionally.
Lasting change requires consistency. Most families continue coaching for 1 to 1½ years—and some for as long as 3—as their teen moves through new goals, challenges, and transitions.
Yes. Virtual coaching gives teens a consistent, private space and allows families to access support from wherever they are. We coach both stateside and internationally.
We discuss the financial investment on the Parent Strategy Call once we understand your teen’s needs and the right coaching plan. We also talk openly about the time, energy, and commitment required.
All decision-making adults should be present so we can identify the right support and next step. Your teen is welcome to join as well.
